About the Author Reinhard Flatischler is a composer, percussionist and pianist and pioneer in the field of creative percussion. He has been a prominent force in introcuing Korean and Brazilian percussion into the Western music scene; an ambassador of rhythm both as a performer and teacher. After graduating from Vienna's Academy of Music, Flatischler traveled to the parts of the world where sounds were exotic to his European ear. In India, he studied tabla; in Cuba, he learned the art of Latin Ameraican percussion; in Brazil he worked with the major samba schools; in Korea he was initiated into the secrets of shamanic music in a profoundly personal way. Since then, he has been developing and implementing TA KE TI NA, an educational process that creates rhythm consciousness through the interaction of feet, hands and voice. It is now used worldwide in therapy centers and music schools. He is the founder of Megadrums, a dynamic global percussion project which units indiviual percussionists from all continents.

Diane Tillman enjoyed working with young people and their families as a School Psychologist for 23 years in southern California. One of the creators of a global values-education initiative, Living Values Education, as a Licensed Educational Psychologist she has authored 15 resource books on values education, and circled the globe numerous times to do seminars in more than 30 countries. She has done values education seminars for UNESCO, educators, educational organizations and street children agencies, at universities, schools and retreat centers, and in refugee camps. She recently wrote a mindful parenting guide, “Nurturing with Love and Wisdom, Disciplining with Peace and Respect”. As a meditator for more than 30 years, she finds people of all ages enjoy and benefit from inner stillness, peace and love.

About the Author
Allen W. Smith has devoted much of his adult life to battling economic illiteracy and promoting economic education. He taught economics to college students for 30 years before retiring as Professor of Economics at Eastern Illinois University in 1998 to become a full-time writer. Over the years, Smith has written numerous books in his effort to help readers understand economics and government economic policy. Understanding Inflation and Unemployment, Smith s first book, became an alternate selection of Fortune Book Club when it was published in 1976. His high school textbook, Understanding Economics, published by Random House in 1986, was used in more than 600 schools in 48 states. For the past decade, Smith has focused his research and writing on government finance and Social Security. He published The Alleged Budget Surplus, Social Security, and Voodoo Economics in 2000, and The Looting of Social Security: How the Government is Draining America s Retirement Account in 2004. In 2009, Smith published THE BIG LIE: How Our Government Hoodwinked the Public, Emptied the Social Security Trust Fund, and caused The Great Economic Collapse. Smith s latest book, released in December 2010, is The Looting of Social Security: New Release of the book they didn t want you to read. Smith has appeared on CNN, CNNfn, CNBC, and more than 200 radio talk shows. He holds a B.S. in Education degree from Ball State University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Indiana University.
